Converting a barn into two residential homes
We were asked by two families to divide and convert a large dairy barn to create two substantial family homes.
The barn had been altered and extended over a number of years but was in a dilapidated state and required substantial refurbishment works. The add-hoc nature of the original extensions however provided the opportunity to provide two very different floor layouts.
They are linked however by the sharing of the large barn-like opening to the eastern elevation, overlooking the gardens.
